About Me.

Hello!  Welcome to SBMS for the 25-26 school year.  My name is Shawn Kelm and this will be my 5th year teaching at Spring Branch Middle School and my 18th year of working in education.  I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Math and inclusion support.  I love teaching math and helping students to understand math.  It really makes me happy when a student "gets it" and I hope that I can do that for your student.  

 

I have been married for 38 years and have 2 beautiful daughters.  In fact, they are the reason that I started teaching.  They are both grown and have careers of their own.  My husband has recently retired from working in the Natural Gas industry as an Accounting Manager.      

 

I enjoy gardening, traveling, and watching UT football.  I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degreee in Mathematics.  I have also worked in several other fields including banking, oil and gas, and at the IRS.
